Anyone looking for a slightly alternative and infinitely more rewarding experience may find what they are looking for in a Kenyan teaching or building trip. While looking into such an endeavour will undoubtedly lead to a more active and challenging trip, the elements involved build to an experience of a lifetime no standard vacation can compare to.

Journeying massively off the beaten track into the real Kenya allows visitors to see everyday life in an up close and personal way as the locals go about doing what they do best. The very sights, smells and occasional chaos that ensues away from the tourist trail is simply beyond compare and cannot fail to enchant.

Needless to say, the scenery and beautiful villages taken in along the way which have in no way been constructed for the benefit of the tourist are nothing short of breathtaking. True, the transport options may be a world away from the comfy hybrid cars of home, but such represents an alternative culture at its finest.

For those willing to take the steps necessary to find it, Kenya has so much more to offer than its wildlife – existing as a country of positivity, laughter and warmth of welcome like no other. The locals met while travelling and during the projects will simply hang on every word spoken, just as when they themselves speak – building memories to last a lifetime and truly inspire the soul.

A standard holiday in Kenya is a wonderful thing, but to see the real Kenya and leave knowing a real difference has been made, a voluntary working trip is simply breathtaking experience.

Are you looking for a romantic honeymoon spot with the best natural landscapes of the world? Then Kenya is the place for you. Kenya in Africa is the most beautiful country in the whole world. It’s got the best coastline of magnificent white sands and superb blue waters from the Indian Ocean. Kenya is also famous for its luxurious safaris and wildlife. The city of Nairobi is the best place to visit for its blazing lights and bubbly cosmopolitan livelihood. You would be amazed to see the numerous hybrid vehicles used in this city. This has helped the city to reduce its carbon footprint. If you wish to admire the wildlife in its natural beauty, then you must visit Masai Mara.

There are numerous bivouac safari camp sites which provide you with luxurious stay. Some has thatch roofs which keeps the place cool. The couples can sit in the verandas with a relaxed mood and enjoy the sounds of the animals and admire the natural beauty. Some camps also have solar heaters for hot water bath. At nights you will experience a light sound of the leaves blowing in the wind. It’s an amazing feeling to share your world with the animals. Lying down on your cozy bed with your beloved you can listen to the singing of the birds. It’s an unruffled romantic spot in the world.

The next place to visit in Kenya is the Mount Kenya Safari Club situated to the north of Masai Mara. It’s the second highest mountain peak in Africa. The peak is immersed in natural beauty. Mount Kenya Safari Club is loaded with princely cottages, independent verandas and gardens. This place is truly heaven on earth.

Mankind owes a responsibility to its future generations to maintain the Earth in a good condition. We are all trustees of this planet and cannot treat it as if we own it. Certain urban areas may be far too polluted to be rehabilitated in the near future. However, we must focus on existing clean spots like the African wild to give nature a second chance to establish the right balance again.
Use of biodiesel in urban areas may only help reduce the extent of pollution. However, switching over to biodiesel in countries like Kenya will help protect nature in its pristine condition.
Since the Kenyan economy is focused on tourism and uses this industry as its primary source of foreign exchange, switching over to cleaner fuels will help not just the planet but the country and its economy as well.
If you are traveling to Kenya, you will do well to insist on use of nature friendly fuels in the safari trips. Paying more for such an option may not seem attractive at first. However, just think of it as the price you are paying for protecting nature for your children and future generations.
Focus on clean environment will increase only when people find it economically beneficial. Find out whether the Kenyan government offers subsidies or other such benefits for use of biodiesel. If yes, then you should insist on getting a share of the same through reduction in prices.
Vacations are great times to get rid of excess stress. Knowing that you have done your bit for your planet will be a very relaxing feeling.

Marriage in Kenya is an important social and moral obligation of the people. If you happen to visit Kenya, you will be surprised to learn that most people and families regard a married person or couple in higher esteem than those who are unmarried. When a person attains the marriageable age or when the parents and relatives think that the boy or girl is old enough, they start to make hints and suggestions to the concerned people. Often a person, who is of marriageable age, is innocently introduced to the suitor. Most aunts are especially notorious for this. Mothers also start asking their children when they are planning to give birth to their namesake. Mothers also pressurize their wards by informing them that they do not want to die without seeing their children’s offspring.

In earlier times, parents played an important role in seeking suitable suitors for their wards. They had the final say and decision on the best person to marry their daughter and introduce them. Most of the time the girls could not express their feelings and so they had to marry a person whom she did not love, just to please her parents. However, due to the interactions with other societies that are more open, the girls in Kenya now have more freedom in choosing their husbands.

After a successful meeting with the girl’s parents, it is the duty of the male person to go and inform his parents that he has spotted his future wife to be in a particular locality and house. A meeting is then arranged with the groom’s parents. Some elderly clan members or relatives are then deputed to the girl’s house and request her parents to marry off their daughter to their relative’s son.

At this juncture, the parents and relatives of the girl refuse to give her away unless some of their demands are met. This may be in the form of some payments which is known as dowry. Negotiations on the amount of money and other gifts such as goats and cows are held, though nowadays some might want hybrid cars! After much haggling, an agreement is reached on the price, which is sealed by the serving of traditional beer. A date if fixed for the payment of the dowry. On the day when the payment is made there is celebration and fun. The girl is taken by the boy’s family to their house. She now belongs to the boy’s family and can return back to her family only if the bride money is returned.

Before you plan to travel to Kenya or book a Kenya Honeymoon Holiday you must find out everything about Kenya and then plan your journey accordingly. This is because you might not have heard about Campi Ya Kanzi, an interesting place, located in the Chyulu Hills National Park and which would be the most perfect and private place for spending a royal and luxurious African Honeymoon.

The name “Campi Ya Kanzi” actually means the camp of the hidden treasure, but in actual terms it is a luxurious tented safari camp in the Southern Kenya, beneath the Mount Kilimanjaro which is merely 35 miles away and within this area, there is this private ranch which ranges about 400 square miles.

The Campi Ya Kanzi has some very interesting features. There are only six thatched roof tented cottages and two suites which have been named as the Simba and the Hemingway. The tented cottages are built out of wood, fabric and stones. Only fourteen guests are admitted at a time and are accommodated in the tented cottages. All the tented cottages have been designed to be extremely private so that those who are on a honeymoon can spend their time in discreet privacy, without any interference. The cottages also have awesome views of the vast area of wilderness and that of the Tsavo Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro, nearby.

Your safari day starts early in the morning with a cup of coffee or tea which are served by a Masai attendant. After that you will have a morning game drive which is followed by breakfast. Fresh local fruits are also served with breakfast. After that your escorted safari on foot starts. The Masai guides and escorts will go out first and then you will follow them in an open vehicle. When you get close to a game that you have expressed a desire to see, you have to get down from the vehicle and walk on foot along with the guides and trackers who are armed, and get as close to the game as you can. You will get to see all of the big five animals that dominate the African wildlife, but on foot. But remember your safety is always the first thing that concerns the professional guides and trackers, who will accompany you wherever you want to go.

If you want to take an African Safari or have your honeymoon in Kenya, then spending a few days in the Campi Ya Kanzi would be just the right thing for you. It will be the perfect place to take you away from the worries of everyday like paying your rent, red diesel suppliers or taxes.

There’s no excuse for not visiting Africa. It is an enormous continent, with more variety of cultures and people than nearly any other continent on Earth. The river Nile, the longest in the world, spans several extremely interesting countries. If you’re interested in animals, however, visiting Africa is an absolute must do, just like finding van insurance northern Ireland.

There are a few different types of zebra, from the largest Grevys to the smallest Grants. The Grevys has a distinctive mane which goes right from the tip of the tail to the front of its forehead. There are different types of giraffe, including the very rare Rothschild giraffe which can be identified by the white patches beneath the knees. Ostriches – perhaps the least intelligent creature in the animal kingdom – run around the plains and basins of Africa. There are African hunting dogs, with their distinctive cackle and enormous ears, and of course the iconic rhino.

What most people seem to visit Africa for though is the African elephant. This is the largest type of elephant, weighing in at up to seven tonnes. There are around a million calories in an elephant – great if you’re an African hunting dog, bad if you’re on a diet.

Don’t be put off by the threat of revolution or hijacking or kidnapping or just being shot. Africa is becoming increasingly safe for Western tourists, even out on safari. Your guides will protect you from gangs and looters, and provided you don’t tie an elephant’s trunk in a knot then you’ll probably not come to too much harm from the animals either.

Kenya has long been known for its athletes who have won a number of gold medals in the Olympics. The people of Kenya are friendly and the country is also unique. Kenya is also the birthplace of “Safari” as it is known all over the world. It is for “Safari’ that Kenya has today become the ultimate destination for the wildlife lovers.

Kenya is also very famous for its wildlife which is the prime attraction of a Kenyan safari which can be found in the many wildlife parks of the country. Some of the most famous national parks of Africa such as the Masai Mara, which is known for the migration of the wild beasts, Amboseli, Tsavo and Lake Nakuru are located in Kenya.

Kenya also has a wide coastline with tropical beaches which are very popular amongst the foreign tourists visiting the country. Malindi and Mombasa in Kenya offer some of the most excellent beach and vacation holiday experiences that you can enjoy in the country.

The “Maasai” tribesman of the country is the most famous tribe in Kenya. They have been able to retain their ancient traditions and culture despite the western influence. The Swahili coast which stretches from Mogadishu in Somali to Sofala in Mozambique, is also a part of the Kenyan coast.

The Masai Mara Game Reserve is Kenya’s most popular place to visit as it has a lot of things to offer to its visitors. Here you can find accommodation and lodges and also modest budget camps. Masai Mara also offers the great safari experience that will remain in your memories for as long as you live.

Some of the most famous lodges are the Keekorok Lodge, Mara Simba Lodge, Mara Sopa Lodge and the Mara Serena Lodge. The Masai Mara Lodge has been built in the direct path of the migration of the wild beasts. During the height of the migration, the lodge is surrounded by a swarm of wild beasts which makes a wonderful sight. Sometimes if you are lucky enough, you may also see a lion make a kill. All in all, it would definitely be more adventurous to opt for a Kenyan holiday rather than booking villas in Spain.

In a time where Africa is seeing a small boost in tourism, the security theatre that has been created in the United States does very little to undermine terrorists. It has not stopped any credible threats and it has always been passengers who have been the ones who have been able to reduce or put down the threat. Security theatre actually does seem to have one really clear effect that is changing the way that we fly. Invasive security procedures are reducing the number of people who are flying. Many are choosing to take the bus or train instead, or perhaps taking the option to drive, even when these options actually work out as being more expensive.

Having had a very successful year trading with the help of a little galvan research it’s a real shame when all that hard earned money is wasted when you have to endure the embarrassing and unnecessary procedures like security theatre. It is clear that the tide has yet to be turned against the increased security on flights. And one single event of successful terrorism will only cause the procedures to be ramped up. While people seem prepared to tolerate the current waves of measures being put in place, I do not think that this will carry on if things are made even more stringent.

People will turn away from air travel. It’s already a great inconvenience to even have to go to the airport many hours before a flight, especially when the airport is many miles away from the city centre. If an attempt is made to make air travel even “safer,” I fear that very few people will continue to fly if there are any other methods that are easier and require less stress than air travel creates. The more that security theatre is built up, the less that people will fly. We want freedom, and unlike terrorism which happens very rarely, security theatre impacts millions of passengers every day and it needs to stop.

When we all think of safaris, one place will always spring to mind: Kenya, along with its picturesque scenes and huge array of wildlife just waiting to be explored along the roads and dirt tracks. Just jump into your car and travel the delights it has to offer.

If you are moving to the wonderful country, but are contemplating whether bringing your car along is worth the bother, then the answer is of course yes! With car transport companies like US car support making the hard work a lot easier for you, the dream of travelling around Kenya in your own car can become a reality.

While taking your car along the paved roads in Kenya, it is worth noting that there are also a number of unpaved roads waiting to be explored, meaning that if you have a four wheel drive, this would be the perfect place to spread your wings and explore.

Although while having a car can be fun, it is worth pointing out that it is not all smooth roads by any means. Road upkeeps can be little to none, so if your car is worth a lot of money, it may be worth your while grabbing some public transport.

If you escape to Kenya for your ultimate get-away vacation, you can always get the bus to your destination, with 25,000 busses available, the majority of Kenya relies on a bus to get around. Travelling around via bus can generally be the cheapest means necessary, particularly as the government and bus companies maintain their short and long distance lines, with costs being as little as $1.30 for a journey lasting an hour. You may not see a timetable, as many busses leave when they are full, or take the same journey a few times a day, something you will get used to the longer you stay.

You can also board a Matatu, which is the African means of transport (public minibuses painted in bright colors). You will more likely see them running in populated areas, and more often than not you will hear them before you see them with their loud benga or rap music blearing through the speakers. A journey from the Matatu will set you back 40 cents for as far as you need to go.

After dark, you would be advised to take a taxi to reach your destination. They may be well-kept cars or close to breaking down vehicles, probably best to pick carefully. They don’t have meters so you will need to negotiate a price before setting off for your destination. It may be worth remembering that with rising petrol prices, the driver will need to make a living, so don’t be too hard when negotiating.

Whenever people speak about the tribes of Kenya, one particular tribe comes in mind. It is the Masai tribes (or Maasai as it is known in Tanzania). Most of the Masai tribe lives on the borders of Kenya and Tanzania. If you happen to visit Kenya or Tanzania, you can go for a guided tour to the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Amboseli National Park (both of which are in Kenya) and the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and get a first hand view of the tribal customs and traditions.

The Masai tribe has become famous as they have still retained most of their traditional customs and ways, though Kenya and Tanzania have become industrialized and modern over the years. A larger percentage of the Masai tribe is still located in the rural areas and follows their traditions. They speak a language which is known as the “Maa”.

In the earlier years, the Masai were known to be fierce warring tribes and were feared a lot by the other East African tribes. They are traditionally a semi-nomadic tribe and rear cattle and livestock. The houses of the Masai are built by the women by using grass and sticks which is then covered with a mixture consisting of mud and cow dung. A village of the Masai tribe is known as the ‘Enkang”.

Usually the Masai men may have more than one wife. The women bead necklaces, headdress, dress and gourds. Both the men and women pierce their earlobes and wear large metal hoops at the top of their ears. A woman who has long stretched earlobes is regarded as a beauty in the Masai tribe. They may also have some decorative cuts on their faces, which are signs for beauty.

After a Masai boy enters adulthood, he becomes a warrior termed as “Morani”. A Morani is expected to be very strong and brave. He should have the ability to spear a lion. If a Morani holds the tail of a dying lion, he gets the mane of the lion as his prize and is also regarded with great honor in his village and tribe. Young boys enter the Morani through a ceremony which is held every seven years.

The Masai women and children usually shave off their heads while the Moranis wear long braided hair which is dyed with red clay. A very popular food of the Masai is custard made out of the blood of cattle. Milk is mixed with blood and then curdled to make the custard.

A holiday in Kenya is a sure way to experience incredible sights and it is definitely a world away from a vacation on the Miami beach or in ostello Amsterdam.
